Dragons’ Den: Series 6: Episode 8 – 2 of 6

www.bbc.co.uk The series draws to a close, but not before the den doors are opened one last time to allow entrepreneurs the chance to pitch to the Dragons who have already pledged investment of well over a million pounds of their own money. Trying to convince the Dragons to part with their cash is 28-year-old Paul Tinton from Surrey. He’s hoping to bring a bit of eco-friendliness to the construction industry with his waste recycling business. Manchester based Naomi Timperley and her American business partner Andy Hurwitz look to get the Dragons into the groove of their Baby Loves Disco project – a novel take on night clubbing for both parents and children. And Simon Boyle, a chef with a Jamie Oliver-like mission to get homeless people back to work also pitches for investment. There will also be a look at some of the most memorable investments of the series and a catch up with a couple of the entrepreneurs to seeing how they’re getting on.

Man that guy turning down Deborah… What an idiot! He wants control? He already showed what he can do… not a whole lot… He will regret it!

Its called continuity. They are asked to wear the same clothes because the producers can patch certain parts to make a single episode from many different dates in the season.

Is a series of Dragon’s Den filmed in one day? ‘Cos Peter’s been wearing those sock for the entire season! Actually, everyone’s clothes stay the same throughout one season, so either it’s all filmed in one go, or they all have several changes of the same outfit.

Maybe some dragons need changing cos with all the business they invested in takes up time which is limited, fresh stock might tale more products from the inventors.

Staying in control of a company means nothing when ur control and decision making is taking the company in a direction that is not successful. He is a fool for not accepting and an even bigger fool for going against what his partner clearly wanted, this is bound to cause conflict between them. One thing people on this show often forget is that it is better to own a small part of something big than a big part of something small…

What a dumb bitch that deborah is. Who is she to say that their decision is wrong when he wants to remain in control of HIS OWN COMPANY. I wish she would keel over and die sometimes.

yes he would only have 30% but his partner would have 30% also so as a couple they would control more than deborah. it was a massive mistake not accepting the offer and deborah clearly wanted to help them that was why she was telling them she could make things happen the next day. with her contacts and knowledge could have took the business far

It seems like that might have been a mistake to me too. However, the guy’s been working a lot to make the business go, and then Deborah comes in and suddenly she controls it more than he does.

There’s more to running your own business than just maximizing profit. Some people will willingly take less to follow their own vision and be their own boss, and I can respect that.

(As Duncan often says, if the pitcher ends up with less than 50% he’s just not motivated anymore.)

The American guy was a control freak, he`d rather have 100% of f**k all than 30% of a hell of a lot!
What a twat!
